This campaign and the proposed facility enhancements reflect much more than a bricks and mortar investment in Ole Miss Athletics. The Forward Together campaign symbolizes our shared values; our commitment to excellence and our unwavering resolve to win championships. Forward Together.

Construction of the new arena, expansion of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and other facility renovations and improvements will occur in a phased approach, so as to allow time for design, development and funding in accordance with an overall Facility Master Plan. All projects are contingent upon sufficient funding to move forward. As such, it is imperative that we work together to see that this long-term vision becomes a reality.
The Forward Togethercampaign funding model exemplifies the growing trend in college athletics to coalesce traditional methods of fundraising with new and innovative methods to generate revenue. Philanthropic giving combined with the introduction of Capital Gift Agreements (CGAs) accomplishes just that by integrating the old with the new and providing a way for everyone to contribute to this monumental effort.
As is the case with all capital campaigns, philanthropic giving will serve as the foundation of the Forward Together fundraising efforts. Donors will be able to make philanthropic contributions through either the Five-Star Fund or through the Vaught Society. Gifts of all sizes will be critical to the success of this campaign.
CGAs in our premium seating areas will serve as a significant source of campaign funding. The CGA is an innovative way to provide priority seating benefits and long-term assurances to our loyal season ticket holders while also generating significant capital for the Forward Togethercampaign. For more information about CGAs, please contact the UMAA Foundation.

The graph below reflects 2010 fiscal year revenues for the Southeastern Conference and illustrates the impact the Forward Together campaign will have on Ole Miss Athletics. Although it’s not possible to predict where other schools in the SEC will be in five years, one thing is certain: Ole Miss Athletics will be on course to grow at a faster rate than ever before, thereby closing the gap with our peers in the upper half of the conference and ensuring our ascent as an SEC power. To be sure, the Forward Togethercampaign will serve as the catalyst for unprecedented revenue growth.

This graph is merely a projection, and serves only to illustrate growth trends and the significant impact the Forward Together campaign will have on Ole Miss Athletics. Forward Together. Are You Ready?
C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum, one of Ole Miss’ most prominent campus landmarks, opened its doors in 1965 and has played host to a variety of athletic, academic, community and entertainment events. However, time is taking a toll on the aging facility and Ole Miss has fallen behind many other schools in the SEC who have recently completed significant renovations or built new basketball facilities in the past five to ten years. With help from one of the world’s leading sports architecture firms, Ole Miss Athletics will bring a first-class basketball facility to the campus of the University of Mississippi.
The concourses at Vaught-Hemingway are old and outdated and in need of renovations and improvements. As such, Phase I will include several enhancements to the concourse, concession and restroom areas of the stadium. These improvements will drastically improve the overall function, atmosphere and aesthetic appeal of these areas. In addition, the Southzone Club will undergo several upgrades to enhance the look and level of hospitality.
As demand for seating in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium grows, so too does the need to expand the north endzone. The proposed expansion will bring capacity over 70,000 and will feature additional club seats and suites as well as a north endzone plaza that will offer the perfect place to gather with family and friends to enjoy the sights, sounds and pageantry of Ole Miss Football. Not only will bowling in the north endzone provide more symmetry and continuity throughout, it will also serve to enhance the game-day atmosphere for our coaches, student-athletes and fans. The proposed expansion will create an impressive “Front Door” to the stadium and transform Vaught-Hemingway into a premiere college football venue.
The Gillom center will undergo a number of improvements benefiting tennis, soccer, softball and volleyball. Possible enhancements include an additional tennis court and indoor practice space for women’s soccer. In addition, individual team meeting rooms for soccer, softball and volleyball may be added, featuring the latest in audio and video technology and theater style seating.
The Vaught Society serves as the leadership fundraising catalyst under the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation in support of Ole Miss Athletics and its quest for conference and national championships. This organization is philanthropic in nature, and its members are invested in the enhancement of Rebel Athletics.
As is the case with all capital campaigns, philanthropic support will serve as the foundation of our fundraising efforts. As such, Vaught Society pledges will be credited to the Forward Together campaign, and will play a critical role in bringing first-class facilities to Ole Miss and meeting our goal of $150 million.
In grateful recognition of their support, Vaught Society members will be provided with an array of benefits, from invitations to exclusive events to men's basketball hospitality and facility naming opportunities. For more information please contact the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation at (662) 915-7159, and ask to speak with a member of the major gifts staff.
CGAs are a great way to obtain a number of priority seating benefits while also contributing to the Forward Together campaign. As a significant source of funding for the campaign, your capital gift will be an investment in the future of Ole Miss Athletics. Below you will find CGA brochures for both the new Arena and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. For more information, please click the above links for Football and Basketball CGA, or call 662-915-7159.
Membership in the Builders Circle will be granted to those who contribute $1,000,000 or more to the Forward Together campaign. This gift may be made over a ten (10) year period in annual installments of no less than $100,000 and will qualify as a 100% tax deductible charitable contribution.
In recognition of their commitment to the Forward Together campaign, contributors will be credited as members of the Builders Circle and have their names prominently displayed in both the North Endzone expansion and the new Arena. Recognition as a member of the Builders Circle will remain in both venues for the life of each facility. For more information please contact the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation at (662) 915-7159 and ask to speak with a member of the major gifts staff. Approximately $50 million. Approximately $100 million will come from seat-related revenue.
The project will be funded by Athletics and Athletics will explore using University financing opportunities.
Our goal is to have the arena open by the 2015-2016 season.
The exact capacity has not been determined because the final architectural plans are yet to be complete. However, we estimate that the arena will have a capacity of approximately10,000 and the expanded Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will have a capacity of over 70,000.
No.
These renderings are initial designs and will serve as a vision for the architectural plans.
Construction of the new arena will take approximately two years to complete. If construction begins according to plan in 2013, the new arena will be open prior to the 2015 season.
As part of the feasibility study, AECOM conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Tad Smith Coliseum and concluded that due to a number of ADA compliance issues and other problems resulting from the age of the facility, it would not be cost effective to renovate the coliseum.
The University Master Plan calls for the new arena to be located behind the Turner Center where the tennis courts and parking lot are currently located.
Tad Smith Coliseum will continue to be used until the opening of the new arena. Once the new arena has been completed, Tad Smith will be torn down and the area will be converted into a green space, providing an appealing landscape between the new arena and Robert C. Khayat Law Center.
It has been determined that the current, most pressing need for Ole Miss Athletics is the construction of a new home for our men’s and women’s basketball programs. The sooner we can reach our initial Phase I goal of $100 Million, the sooner we can begin construction of the North Endzone.
By the time construction begins on the North Endzone, the FedEx Center and Starnes will be due for a major renovation. Plans have not been finalized, but the functions of these buildings will be included in the new project. As far as the historical nature of these buildings, we will certainly do everything we can to preserve the historical nature of these buildings.
